The Maritime ClimAccelerator is run by the Cyprus University of Technology, ATHENA Research Centre, the Cyprus Energy Agency, Chrysalis LEAP and Cleantech Bulgaria, together with our vast network of collaborators and supporters from around the world.
The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) is a public university based in Limassol, Cyprus, was founded in 2004. CUT is a modern and innovative university with international recognition and international rankings, promoting excellence in education and research in key sectors with a view to the scientific, technological, cultural, social and economic upgrading of the country.
The Sustainable Development Unit (SD.U) operates under the Athena Research Center. SDU is Scientifically directed by Prof. Phoebe Koundouri. SDU engages in cutting-edge research to enable the transition to resilience and sustainability, through the implementation of UN Agenda 2030 (17 SDGs), the Paris Agreement and the European Green Deal. The Unit focuses on interdisciplinary systems research and the delivery of innovative solutions for the transition to a green, digital, job-based and fair future. The work on its large interdisciplinary team focuses on the inter-dependencies between research and innovation, the economy, the society, the environment, policy-making and politics. The thematic priorities of the Unit are namely:

The Cyprus Energy Agency (CEA) is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization, founded in 2009. CEA was cofunded by the European Commission, through the Programme “Intelligent Energy for Europe” and by the Cyprus Union of Communities, for its establishment and first three years of operation.
Chrysalis LEAP helps startups bridge the gap between idea and business. It is a partner of EIT Climate-KIC, one of the three EIT Climate-KIC Cyprus Hub partners and the official organiser of EIT ClimateLaunchpad for Cyprus. Wearing all these hats, they undertake various initiatives to promote cleantech entrepreneurship and innovation.
Cleantech Bulgaria is the innovation network for sustainable development and healthy living in Bulgaria.
Their mission is to enhance Bulgaria’s potential for innovation and sustainable economic growth by nurturing entrepreneurial talent and supporting new ideas in the field of clean technologies, biotechnologies and green innovation. They do this through promoting and strengthening synergies and cooperation among science, businesses and the public sector, with the single pivoting goal - enabling sustainable change towards an eco-conscious culture, business and life.
